- Patient Preparation: Ensure the patient is comfortable and that their teeth are clean and free from any debris. Examine the patient’s dental arches and choose the appropriate archwire size and shape based on the treatment plan.
- Wire Selection:Â Select the OSL Super Elastic NiTi Ovoid Form Archwire – Round based on the arch form and wire dimensions specified in the treatment plan. Verify that the archwire is in its austenitic phase (fully active) at room temperature.
- Wire Placement: Gently insert the archwire into the brackets, starting with the central incisors and moving toward the molars. Use ligatures, self-ligating brackets, or other appropriate methods to secure the archwire in place. Avoid bending or twisting the archwire beyond its superelastic recovery range (45° – 75°).
- Adjustments:Â Make minor adjustments to the wire if necessary, ensuring not to exceed its superelastic limits to maintain its integrity and performance.
- Patient Care:Â Advise the patient to follow routine oral hygiene practices and to avoid foods that could potentially damage the archwire. Schedule regular follow-up appointments to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments.
